Out with the trog...
As of today, we no longer need our "trog" of a case worker for me to visit the kids. Which means I can actually start seeing them once a week, like I'm supposed to be allowed to do. We don't know if we are getting another case worker as of yet, but as for now, she is out of our hair for this. Home away from home.....
As some of you already know, and for those that don't, brace yourself, I am NOT living at home right now. Before your mind starts firing off with "what" and "why", Bambi and I are fine and still very much in love with each other. My leaving has nothing to do with us. However, as far as her son WOPR is considered(I only say her son because I have not legally adopted him yet) it is a far different story. He made an allegation against me last Tuesday that drew in the attention of his school, the state of Missouri, and ultimately my mother. I don't want to go into any detail, but both Bambi and I continue to believe that the allegation against me is false, and that WOPR could have been influenced, not coerced, into saying what he did. I say influenced because of his personality and wishing to please people around him and say what he "thinks" they want to hear, whether it is true or not. Sadly, it could be months before we have the chance to offer this kind of evidence up to a judge which would help clear me of the allegations. So until that time, if you wish to reach me, e-mail is always good, and I'm staying at Brennan's if you wish to call or stop by. Also, in case you are wondering, I do still intend to adopt WOPR after this entire matter is cleared up because despite all of this, I do still love him and care for him, and that is what truly matters in my eyes and Bambi's. Snagged from Rigator
Hehehe :) A fierce warrior up for any challenge, you will never back down from a fight. You are an honorable combatant, but that does not mean you are above deriving pleasure from the defeat of your adversaries. Take the quiz! | | Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 | | 6:18 pm |
It's Mega-Maid, she's gone from suck to blow!!!!
This is the thought that ran through my head for the last 2 hours today. My job has gone from suck to blow. Starting about a month ago we began testing new order check-in progress that would allow managers in the corporate offices to look at our stores customer order inventory. Yawhoo, no biggie there, who gives a crap. Sadly, to check everything in using this new method takes adds more time to what we already have to do for order check-ins. To quote myself before I left work "It took 3 hours to check in 5 skids worth of orders before the Camelot Check-in we started a month ago. Now, during the Camelot check-in, it takes about 4 hours to do 5 skids." 33% increase in time to do the same same amount of physical work in the end. Word came down from corporate today that we now have to go through and enter almost the same check-in information into our already pre-existing order taking system. So in effect, we have our entire paper check in system where we match the order on our printed copy to the ticket attached to what has arrived. When everything is checked off as arriving, we make a call to the customer and make notes about whether we talked to the customer or left a message on our order form which gets attached to the merchandise. With the Camelot Check-in, we also have to scan said order into our stores digital customer order inventory, and enter into said digital inventory, the same notes and comments we just wrote on the paper form. Now, we also have to go into the the order screen where said original order was placed, and leave comments stating that the piece has arrived at our store and on what day. So I'm doing the same thing in triplicate, and I want to just scream and break things. And the sick and twisted shit is that to sit down and put this stuff into each specific order will add almost an hour to the check-in process for 5 skids. So to now do those same 5 skids will take almost 5 hours. 66% increase in time to still do the same amount of physical work. My job doesn't just suck anymore, it blows. Truer words have never been spoken...
One of the deviants I watch on DeviantArt posted this on her journal. I chuckled, laughed, and then realized how true it is. 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English. 4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English. 5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the English. CONCLUSION Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you. | | Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 | | 2:07 am |

Heeeeee's baaaaaaack!!!!!!
Many years ago, I made a saddened post on here, specifically on 11-26-03. My favorite radio DJ's had been canned. This morning, I decided to click the radio on turn it to the Point. Not sure why, but instantly, a grin came to my face, and shortly thereafter a laugh followed by a "fu@k yeah!" Woody is back.... and St. Louis morning radio has been put on notice. Though he has no "Wipping Boy" this time, he is teamed up with a DJ I do like. I actually have a reason to listen to the radio on a regular basis again! Vacation recovery...
Well, 1 week ago today the family and I were wrapping up our week long vacation in the land of Florida. We visited many a beaches(Cocoa, Clearwater, St. Augustine), spent much time with the various family members littered across the state, missed seeing certain friends *ahem*, BUT reasons were valid and the timing just sucked. Crashed Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Downtown Disney, the latter of which where Washu FINALLY got me a watch that I will wear. THe only complaint I had with the trip was getting burnt by the big glowing sun in the sky. And when I say burnt, I mean borderline "take me to the hospital for burns" burnt. I had serious problems just laying down for bed last Wednesday, as Washu can lay witness to. Although for a good focus to block out the pain, I recommend eating Pecan Pie. The tasty yumminess helped block everything else out for a while :) Also, speaking of food stuffs, I am envious of the residents of St. Cloud, Florida for a bloody IHOP. It had the absolute best Strawberry filled French Toast and strawberry pancakes in existence. Also, (not IHOP related) Key Lime Pie done right, as a cheesecake... SO... FRELLING... GOOD! In a surprise move by the Washu Tuesday night, we ended up seeing the midnight premiere of Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen. Without giving to much away, fans of the various toy lines and original series will note some nods made: triple-changer, pretender, & micro-machine. Plus what to me seemed a nod to Beast Wars, specifically Optimal Optimus. My only real complaint with this movie can be summed up in one word, Bionicle. Go see the movie, you'll understand. Oh well, off to bed now... Current Mood: tiredCurrent Music: computer hum | | Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 | | 10:21 pm |
The Trek movie has been seen...
... and it is has been deemed good. Very good. I am not sure if I would rate it as my favorite of all Trek flicks, but it stands out against a large chunk of those that has come before. I think one thing that keeps me from saying that it is better then all the others is that it very quickly establishes itself as something very different from everything we know. Its like trying to compare an orange to a basket full of 10 apples. And since we all know you can't compare apples and oranges, I think you get the idea. We've started thinking about what to do in Florida for our week down there. As of now, we have 1 day in Tampa (hi Courtney :p), 1 day at Cocoa Beach, and possibly 1 day at Disney World(free admittance, can't complain) We still have 4 days maybe 5 to fill in for what to do. Anybody have suggestions? Current Music: Family Guy in background | | Thursday, May 7th, 2009 | | 9:51 pm |
Updates and invitations
April took an abrupt 90 degree change about 2 days after my last post. One of the stock guys and one of the managers where I work were laid off. The manager was 8 months pregnant at the time, and absolutely NOBODY wanted to see her go :( WOPR had a good birthday, but boy does he have a spoiled streak in him. We took him out to "The Incredible Pizza" which is pizza, go-karts, bowling, bumpercars, videogames, and putt-putt all under one roof. Washu kept asking him if he wanted to go bowling like, every 30 minutes or so, and every time he answered "no". So 3 hours go by, and they close up shop, and low and behold, WOPR begins to cry because he didn't get to bowling. Parents. Can. Not. Win. He scored a good haul for his big 6th, his 1st transformer, clothes, bike pads, helmet, and a new bike. Well, we don't have the bike yet, but that's because he is still in school and we don't want to deal with the everyday crying of "I don't wanna go to school, I wanna ride my bike!" Cinco de Mayo was a couple days ago and I didn't really come out of my alcohol induced haze until this morning. Washu and I partook in margaritas and "mike's hard raspberry lemonades" to a rather satisfying level on the 5th and somewhat into the 6th. We were both off from work and decided to cut loose for a while :) Haven't seen Wolverine yet.... but I will see Star Trek next Tuesday, that is certain. As for the second half of my title for this, I am inviting all who see this to a birthday bash for me. Saturday May 30th, at Dave & Busters. There is no set time to arrive by, I intend to arrive around 6, and stay till midnight or so. Don't feel obliged to come for the whole time but please come if you can. Hello's are always welcome :) | | Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 | | 8:32 am |
Shtuffs and happenings of the last couple weeks....
Where to begin... hmm. Went to Anime St. Louis the last weekend of March, and absolutely had a blast! It's the first anime con I've made it to since Anime Central 2005. It's also the first con that Washu and I have been to since getting together. As an added bonus, we took the munchkins and they seemed to have a good time as well. We found a wonderful former "cosplayer extraodinaire" who was selling off her inventory, and luckily 2 of her outfits matched up to WOPR and Sammy. They matched so well in fact that Washu decided to sign them up into the Masquerade Saturday night, and they both won awards! WOPR won honorable mention and Sammy won best in class! The con itself was actually better then what I was expecting. There was a lot of cosplayers running around, mostly high-schoolers but surprisingly a LOT of college age as well. The overall feel of the environment reminded me of the early Anime Centrals. The attendance total was about 1750 people which puts it around the A-Cen'99 mark for peopls. Considering the last A-Cen I went to broke the 10k mark, this was much smaller and a lot more comfortable. Their dealers room was put together quite well with a nice varying range of items. I picked up a Gundam Exia kit from the newest Gundam 00 series which I recommend to any one who likes Gundam to see. Myself and Washu picked up matching Garu and Pucca pins which we wore all day Saturday. Washu also managed to find a Lum window sticker which I said Ash would be jealous of. Also amazingly, I saw a few Lum figurines which I hadn't seen in about 15 years. Apparently one of the bigger toy companies in Japan celebrated it's 50th anniversary recently and decided to re-release some of it's more popular sellers through the years. Just a heads to you Ash. Now for my personal favorite part of the whole con, was being selected as a judge for the Anime Robot Rumble. It. Was. AWESOME! The panel was being run by Steven Yun, a member of Harmony Gold, who brought Robotech to the world outside of Japan. Myself plus 4 other selected judges were given matchups to decided who is the best anime robot ever. With much jeering from the audience and a lot of fun on everybody's part, Lion Voltron was felled by Mazinger in the final round. My only two picks that didn't win were both 1st round picks. I was the only judge that thought Optimus Prime could take Roy Fokker in his VF-1S, and I only had 1 other judge who agreed with me that the original RX-78-2 Gundam would beat the Wing Gundam from Gundam Wing. Alright...other stuff now... the vice-president where I work, the demonspawn known as Kathy Leffler, has been retired/kicked out. Her spin was that she was retiring, Home Depots spin was that they were tired of putting up with her crap and gave her 5 days to get her shit together and get the fuck out. I like the Home Depot spin better :) We finally picked up a new TV recently. A 32" Samsung HD LCD flat screen. Washu wanted bigger, but I wanted better. The 32" works quite well in our space though. Maybe next year we'll try for the bigger. Sammy is learning new words everyday now it seems. I can almost get her to follow me in a count to 10. She has problems around the 5 and 9. Now if we can just get her potty-trained before Florida in June we'll be all set for an awesome vacation. And one last final note, today and tomorrow is my 3rd anniversary with Washu. We were legally bound by law on the 7th, and in front of our family and friends on the 8th. So if anybody calls, don't expect an answer :p Current Mood: happy | | Thursday, March 12th, 2009 | | 11:00 pm |
Jon Stewart... my hero
Just finished watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart ripping in to Jim Cramer about the state of our economy. It reminded me of when he went on Crossfire... which not long after he did, was canceled. Hope Cramer will still have a show in 6 months time, the economy sucks for trying to find a new job... of course Cramer knows that. Farscape 1 go for launch
Sitting down and watching entire series from beginning to end... again... for the 3rd or 4th time since it premiered 10 years ago. It set a high bar in my opinion and I have yet to see or hear of anything on television that can surprass it. Oh well, back to the show :) | | Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 | | 1:50 pm |

Lambert's Aftermath.....
To...many....rolls.....can't....hold them...in *explode* That was what my tummy felt like when we left Lambert's last night. It never did explode, but it wanted to oh so bad. We ended up with a dozen people total for our group. Can't type much else right now, have to leave for work very soon, will type more later tonight. To Lamberts... huzzah!
We are going to Lamberts in Sikeston on the 17th, for a certain someone's birthday :D I tried getting in touch with some of you tonight about it, but it seems some left there phones off *cough Mendou cough* Others asked for a posting to here as a nice simple reminder, so here you go :) | | 1:23 am |
Amother year, another inventory, and other stuff
So we had our annual store inventory tonight. My day started at 9:51am yesterday morning, and didn't end till 12:14 am this morning, or a little over an hour ago. All in all, it went very well, VERY well. We thought we were going to set a new record with an inventory variance of less then $600, but then we noticed one of the sections that one of our newer sales ladies had done was off.... way off. $600 ballooned to $2500 in less then 10 minutes. Still, it held at that for close to an hour before the store manager finally cut me and Darth Cookie to go home. WOPR starts back to school tomorrow. He had a rather enjoyable holidays with the grandparents visiting, and in the 16 days he was off, he only had sugar for 2 of those days. Wow, is he a different kid without it. We are seriously writing a note for his teacher to let her know he gets NO sweets at all at school, plus no drinks with either sugar added or high fructose corn syrup. His cognitive and judgment centers actually work when he is off of it, and he will actually eat his food. All of it. And ask for more. Sammy has her birthday on this upcoming Friday. The little munchkin will be 2, and the terrible phase has already started. She has gotten into at least 2 physical fights with her brother in the last few days(both of which he did partially provoke, but I didn't fault him for it cause it wasn't intentional) plus she has taken up the hobby of slapping. Notably, slapping mommy. Ooh she's a little stinker :p Current Mood: exhausted | | Monday, December 29th, 2008 | | 12:58 am |
Holiday Gifts... Rounds 2 & 3
On the big X-mas day itself, we bummed over to Washu's mom for a dinner and more gifts for the munchkins. Sammy scored 5 dolls "whimper" plus a stroller to take them for walkies in *sigh* THe walker plus 3 dolls got to stay at grandma's :p Little WOPR scored big time with a HUGE train set, which also stayed at grandma's so he wouldn't be "potentially" strangled my mommy for waking her up at 9am, on a Saturday morning after she has only had 2 hours of sleep :) I myself received Godiva truffles (yum) some white/chocolate/fudge/brownie concoction(also yum) and The Dark Knight on DVD. I'm waiting for the stores to restock because I have to exchange it, full-screen for wide-screen. Today was Washu getting me the rest of my holiday gifts, which was primarily clothes. More pants, new shirts. Stopped by at a soon to be closed Suncoast and scored the mother-load in anime pickups. Silent Mobius 1 & 2, Godanner Vol 2-7, Pucca, and Invader Zim Vol 3. Silent Mobius was a gift to me. Godanner was me just wanting to complete the series, and Pucca and Zim were for Washu.... and me :) We then made our way to the local Lindt chocolate store only to discover that they were gone. Or to be more precise when we got home and Washu did an internet check, ALL their stores are gone. They apparently have gone I-net only except for a partnership of sorts with Target(still gotta look into that) and desert aisles in stores. They have the best damn truffles in the world.
